FAKE GOLD BARS BEING SOLD IN THE KOHL'S PARKING LOT

The Brentwood Police Department is investigating the sale of fake gold bars. Investigators are aware of two incidents in the Kohl's parking lot, 5551 Lone Tree Way, where sellers tell victims they are down on their luck and in desperate need of money and then convince them to buy a gold bar for cash. The bars are not gold and in one incident, it was reported one of the two suspects threatened violence and forced the victim to purchase the fake gold bar. The suspects in this incident were described as follows:

Suspect 1: Hispanic or Latino male, scannable fake id 50 to 60 years old, 5 06, overweight, with black hair, fake id generator wearing a black zip up jacket and dark pants.

With the holiday shopping season here, criminals will be actively searching for crimes of opportunity. The public is reminded to stay alert and skeptical of anyone who approaches them with propositions to purchase precious metals or other items such as, flat screen televisions, DVD players, scannable fake id and gaming consoles. Shoppers are reminded to be aware of your surroundings at all times, avoid distractions, and try not to shop alone. Try to park your vehicle in a well lit area, keep valuable items concealed, fake drivers license and keep personal belongings close to your person.
